KICKAPP

Privacy policy

KICKAPP helps groups organise football. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Matchday Tech Co. Ltd (“we”) is responsible for your data. Questions: jamie@kickapp.tech.

What we collect

Why we use it

Only to run KICKAPP: to show you your games and groups, let organisers manage them, send the alerts you've switched on, take payments, and keep the service safe (for example, acting on reports). Our legal bases are performing our contract with you and our legitimate interest in running a safe service. We don't sell your data, show ads or use advertising trackers.

Who can see what

Who we work with

We use service providers who process data for us: Stripe (payments), Render (servers), MongoDB Atlas (database), Expo, Apple and Google (sign-in and notifications). The text you type into Find a game is sent to postcodes.io (UK) or OpenStreetMap's Nominatim (elsewhere) to find the area; nothing else about you goes with it.

KICKAPP is run from the UK and used in other countries, so your data may be stored or processed in the UK, the European Economic Area, the United States or other countries where these providers work. Where data leaves the UK or your country, we rely on the protections the law requires, such as adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

While you have an account. When you delete it, we delete your profile, photo, emergency contact and sign-in. Payment records may be kept as long as the law requires. Games you played may still show your past check-ins to the group without your profile.

Your rights

You can see and change your details in the app, delete your account at any time (how), and ask us for a copy of your data or to correct, restrict or delete it by emailing jamie@kickapp.tech. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

KICKAPP is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children, including children under 13 in the United States. If you think a child has an account, email us and we'll delete it.

If you're in the European Union or EEA

You have the rights above under the GDPR, and you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.

If you're in the United States

We don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we don't use sensitive personal information to infer things about you. If you live in California or another state with a consumer privacy law (such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or Texas), you can ask to know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it, to get a copy, to correct it and to delete it. Email jamie@kickapp.tech from the address on your account; we may need to check it's you, and you can use an authorised agent. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer. The categories of information we collect, why, and who receives it are set out above; we keep it for as long as described under “How long we keep it”.

If you're in Australia

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. You can ask to access or correct your information by emailing us. Your information may be held overseas (in the UK, the EEA or the United States) by the providers named above. If you're unhappy with how we've handled a complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

If you're in Canada or New Zealand

You can ask to access or correct your information by emailing us. If you're unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or New Zealand's Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
